Study in professional training

Foreign students interested in vocational training should contact  Québec Métiers d'avenir  to learn about all training programs, registration procedures, administrative procedures, etc.

Vocational training, from one to two years, has the characteristic of preparing for the labor market by learning a specialized trade. It usually follows a vocational training center, attached to a school board, and delivers a diploma of professional studies (DEP) or a certificate of professional specialization (ASP), usually in just under a year. Vocational Training also offers short-term training (less than 800 hours) leading to a Professional Studies Certification (AEP).

As an international student, you will need to obtain a study permit  and pay  tuition fees that vary widely depending on the program: between approximately CAN$7,000 and CAN$25,000, except for French students who, thanks to the agreements between Quebec and France, are exempt from tuition fees payable by international students.

Study in technical training

Foreign students interested in technical training will find much information on the  Les cégeps du Québec website . Technical training takes place at the university level, which is part of higher education in Quebec. University education leads to a university diploma (DEC).
